I have an old #MacMini from circa 2010, but I can't think of anything to do with it.
It doesn't have any USB3 ports and only one Ethernet port, so I can't use it as a router. Its DVD drive doesn't work (probably just dusty, but I don't know how to open it up and clean it), so I can't use it as a DVD player.
What do people do with old #Mac Minis these days?
Is it perhaps possible to run modern macOS in an emulator on it?

6 Displays is the limit on a 68k mac unless you start adding display adapters on SCSI. This is a Quadra 950 with 5 video cars and the the onboard video driving a desktop that is over 4400 pixel wide.
Fellow Mac users! Does anyone know if you can connect a Thunderbolt 4 laptop dock to a Mac Mini (M4), and get the same results as connecting the dock to a MacBook?
My chief desire is to get video on 2 monitors. I'd like to be able to do it through the dock if possible.
The Mac Mini has Thunderbolt 4 ports, rated for 2 displays each - hopefully the Mac Mini's ports work this way?

I’m suddenly having a problem with an external #SSD that is password protected and formatted in #Apple’s #APFS format, IIRC. It was working fine until today, and suddenly it won’t stay mounted. When I connect the drive, one of three things happens:
1) Nothing at all. The lights on the SSD drive indicate a connection, but the #Mac doesn’t recognize it, and neither does Disk Utility.
2) An error message pops up saying the drive can’t be read, and asking me if I want to erase and formatted it, ignore it, or eject it.
3) The password input window appears, as it should; I input the password and the drive mounts; but in under a minute it is unmounted, and an error message pops up saying the drive was unmounted improperly. (1/2)
