@dsebastien main issue I have with Syncthing though, is that there's no iPad client!

@toran Good to know. I'm not an "Apple guy" anymore :p

@dsebastien Lot of people talking about how Obsidian Sync @ $4/month is worth it so that you don't need to faff around with the sort of stuff you posted.

Far as I'm concerned I truly appreciate you actually letting people know this information. I'd rather faff around and save money than just drop a dime because I'm too lazy to figure out cheaper alternatives. Cheers.

@dhry I have nothing against Obsidian Sync. I just prefer having full control/ownership of how my data is handled

@dhry Plus i get to use the same approach for different use cases

@dsebastien well done article. Did you notice any impact on the battery life from Synchthing fork? I ended up doing a Tasker job that activates the sync only once every hour

@micheledm @dsebastien
Syncthing-Fork makes a huge impact on battery life in the sense it consumes way less battery than Syncthing. But of course the tasker approach makes it even more efficient if it's OK to sync every hour or so.

@micheledm @dsebastien Ah and you can have the same effect in Syncthing (hourly activation) just turn off "Watch for changes" on your folder and check the value of "Full rescan interval" which is 1 hour by default.

@micheledm I did, positivte impact :)
